My BAD!

   Not exactly sure where that term came from but my kiddos say it all the time when they forget to do something - or more likely choose not to. I think it's kinda a hip version of "sorry."  It seemed the appropriate title since it has been August since I updated this blog. I just really hate doing this for various reasons- computer is slow, can't type, writer's block...

Nevertheless,  it is best way to let you all know about the great flood of goodies that have arrived at Paper Crown.  Tons of new stuff and that does not even include CHRISTMAS which will begin being on display Monday, November 3!

More on Christmas to come.  I'm sure you are saying fat chance and I don't blame you one bit but I will try to be better with the blog. In the mean time,  here are a few shots of the new items at Paper Crown- 

A HUGE order from Prima including 3 paper lines, a nursery full of flowers, a vault full of gems and the coolest clear stamps and clear paintables.  

The build a bauble stamp is a favorite. You create a swirl using the many clear stamps and then insert the gems into the frame. Looks like a lot of fun and a great way to customize your page , card or project.

   Another fun favorite is the Sassafras Lass line. Beautiful colors fun design and each sheet has a free embellishment. Each line has a different die cut edge at the bottom of each sheet you can cut off to use. Very clever and it makes the prettiest display. Each line also has a cute animal on several of the sheets- deer, owl and hedgehog ( who knew a hedgehog could be so cute!)

   If you love trinkets we have a new stash of goodies - metal flowers, collage sheets, charms and foil Dresden pieces. These are sure to make your project unique.

  A few other lines in this week- Basic Grey, 7 Gypsies, K & Co and the sparkle glitter Laundry Line from My Mind's Eye!  And we haven't even mentioned Christmas yet!  

I'll throw in a few more pics to peak your interest and then it is off to class list! Decided to tackle all my demons in one day!

Beautiful Papers

Beautiful Papers- the perfect description for all things Cavallini. I'm not sure there has been anything we have gotten from Cavallini that we haven't gone crazy over  and this shipment was no exception.

I know we all have them stuck on our frigs. Really unattractive magnets advertising everything from our favorite plumber to our favorite pizza. Helpful yes but pretty- not. How about replacing those ugly magnets with an artful set from Cavallini. We have bird/ nest, ABC English & ABC French. I guarantee they will even make those grocery and to do lists look better.

The large sheets of gift wrap have been so popular for paper arts projects that we ordered several other sheets including: seashells/corral, floral, vintage alphabet and a new bird motif. I wrapped teacher gifts in them and they were so stunning you really didn't even need ribbon.

Lots of beautiful tags that look great in a collage project, scrapbook , or for their intended purpose- gift tag. Many of these labels will figure predominately in Jackie's August class. More on that to come soon, but as usual , she has outdone herself once again. A little hint - it's reminiscent of a childhood favorite only so much better!

this and that

No large complete collections this week but lots of fun odds and ends. Making Memories Noteworthy collection has been a favorite and one collection that we have actually reordered. This week,s delivery included: journal and scalloped paper, metal embellished brads, glittered chipboard flowers and aqua flocked lettering.

K & Co has been one of our favorites for the past year and the Blue Awning collection doesn't disappoint. Dreamy blue papers and tons of neat embellishments- everything from beaded flowers to intricate cut frames. Perfect for a scrapbook page or a shadowbox of vacation pictures.  

By far the favorite of the week has been the stamps and wonderful art papers from Character Construction. The artist, Catherine Moore's, work has been featured in Somerset magazines and was used last weekend in Jackie's  Bird House Album. The possibilities are endless and just looking at these products sets your imagination soaring. The paper doll stamps will be used in one of our  August classes and I know you will love it. We literally just got it set up a few minutes ago so summer class schedule will be out soon.  

The selection is still good but these are going quickly so don't hesitate.

Oh Baby!

Finally! We have been in search of the "just right" baby line- not too cheesey, not too pastel but just something tasteful for the artsy babe and mom or grandmother. Well, it has finally arrived and not just 1 line but 2!

The new Anna Griffin and Melissa Francis lines both have the perfect baby collections. I love Anna and think she is grossly underrated. Her collections are always beautiful in a tasteful way- kinda Audrey Hepburn  or Jackie O. The papers can be purchased individually or in a paper pack. There are also mini albums that come with everything needed to create a mini album- perfect for a new grandmother or a quick and thoughtful Mother's Day gift.    

The new Melissa Francis collection has soft pastel papers that can go for either a girl or boy and make creating an album or project a snap. Melissa Francis also has a girl and boy page kit to help if the creative juices just aren't flowing that day. As with most of Melissa Francis' collection, it has that distinctive vintage feel that we love about her work.

Melissa Francis also has several other new collections, one Thankful which was inspired by her journey with breast cancer. For those of us who have experienced this first hand, this line will have special meaning.

Each of Melissa's new lines has a ticket book that coordinates with the collection. They are basically a collection of journalizing blocks and prompts that will help to create meaningful pages. These have been a big hit and have been flying out the door!

Just when we thought we had Anna Griffin all figured out she surprised us with her Sierrra line. It is not pastels but the most beautiful earth tone collection on kraft paper. This is my favorite and not only are the papers beautiful but the embellishments amazing- wooden brads, corrugated photo corners, gold resin elements and intricate felt borders. It is a beauty!

Look What the Wind Blew In

What is with the wind these past few days- strong gusts is a huge understatement. The boy's tennis matches and baseball games have turned into a dust dipping. Yuck! At least I'm not tempted to head to the garden but instead, move the garden into the store. If you haven't been in this week the store has been flipped and is totally new.

This week we have added 5 Basic Grey lines, 5 Anna Griffin lines and 4 Melissa Francis lines- Wow!

It's impossible to pick a favorite but here are a few shots of the pink and pastel lines. They just look like Spring and bring to mind Mother's Day projects.

If you are stumped for some new fresh ideas arriving today via Mr. Postman- Scrapbook Trends, Cards, Scrapbook Etc., and Mini Album books that are sure to get the ideas flowing. The remaining Paper Crown classes would also make great Mother's Day gifts but space is limited so chop, chop!

  I love to see Melissa Francis come across the credit card receipt. The only downside is it seems to take FOREVER to get here from Canada. Definitely worth the wait and this shipment was no exception. Beautiful papers, fun unique embellishments and always something a little different. This year it's tin stars think Annie Oakley meets Paper Crown. In the example these were adorable covered in paper but would also look fabulous in a boys room  unadorned.

 

Very, Very Country Living!

Both Melissa and Anna came out with baby papers that are beautiful. Both lines have lots of embellishments and goodies. Anna even has a baby album that is ready except for inserting the pictures- perfect for a new mom or a shower gift. The baby lines aren't out yet but hopefully I can tackle that this afternoon.

One more brand new line to highlight- PINK PAISLEE. This came in last week and we love it . Debut ing with 2 lines Office Lingo and Spring Fling . In addition to papers, overlays and stickers this line has the cutest little stamps; so reasonably priced you will want them all!

Last but not least, I have to share a picture of the treasure I got at the Nichols Hills Elementary auction last weekend. This chandelier is absolutely perfect for the store and I'm hoping the creator will teach a class at Paper Crown this summer. She has some amazing art at Cloverleaf and I'm hoping to twist her arm to teach a class at Paper Crown! Keep your finger crossed.      

The Holiday items in the work room will be leaving at the end of the month so if you need anything to finish up Christmas or Valentine's pictures now is the time to stock up- and even better all items in the work room are 40% off.

Goin', Goin' Gone

The last three classes for the spring session at Paper Crown are quickly approaching so I thought I would use this opportunity to give you a quick reminder before they slip by or fill up. Each class has just a couple of spaces left. I think that is quite a compliment to our fantastic teachers Jackie Peters and Susie Perrott. You will agree we saved the best for last so....

This Thursday, April 17th is Susie Perrott's Stamping Class. Everyone who has come into the store has raved about these tags and Thursday night you can go home with your own stash. After a fun and informative evening with Susie you will be a pro at the many aspects of stamping and the possibilities for scrap booking , card making or paper arts projects are endless. Class is Thursday, April 17th from 6-8 p.m. and the cost is $25.00. 

How could you resist this cute face? Jackie Peters next class is the May Day  Cone on Tuesday, April 29th from 6:30-8:30. Not only will you go home with the cutest May Day decoration but the class presentation and treats are always over the top. My boys have started to ask when Mrs. Peters has a class and can they help load her car. No, they aren't the most considerate fellows, they just love Jackie's cookies and cupcakes! There are only a few spots let for this fun class so if you are on the fence you better call before it is too late. Some of my favorites have signed up so I know it will be a fun evening. Cost of the May Day Class is $25.00.

Jackie's final class of the spring session is the Bird House Album on May 10th from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. I can't think of a better way to spend a beautiful spring Saturday than creating a tribute to all that is Spring. This is an amazing project that you will LOVE! The class is an all day Saturday class with a break for lunch. It truly is amazing and something you won't want to miss. This isn't a crafty class it is an ART class. Cost is $45.00.    

Call Paper Crown at 848-2389 to reserve your spot in any of these classes. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the class will be charged- sorry but by then, all the work has been done.

Picture Book

It is said that a picture is worth a thousand words so a photo collage of new items to Paper Crown seems a great way to get caught up.  As you can see we have been inundated with boxes of new items, busy coordinating classes and parties and basically being incredibly busy with everything BUT the blog.

Our first priority is our store and customers so I apologize to all of you out in blog land. I have not kept up but hopefully the boxes will slow down and I can be more consistent with the blog. However I'm not so sure blog land is such a friendly place.

As you can see the goods have come rolling in and expected to arrive tomorrow are Melissa Francis and Anna Griffin. The store is constantly changing  so you will never know what surprise awaits you each week. We hope to see you soon.!      

No Excuse

There is really no excuse for not making one of the wonderful classes we have scheduled for spring. Believe it or not we have classes scheduled through May with a new stamping class debuting on our blog today.

You have been begging and pleading for some classes to get your creative juices flowing and we have responded- in a BIG way!

Stamping Basics and More- 4/17/08 6-8 $25.00

   You asked for it and now it is here! With so many beautiful and fun stamps, it is hard to resist but do you think you might need a class on the basics ? Another of our crown contestants, Suze Perrott, will teach you all the basics of stamping. Class techniques include rubber, clear acrylic and foam stamps. You will also learn how to create your own stamps, emboss and all the tricks with Suze's favorite tool the cropadile. Come join Suze as you learn many new techniques to create a spring stamp surprise.

Over the next few weeks we will include sneak peeks from each of the classes. Today's preview is Jackie's ATC class on March 25. If you are interested call Paper Crown to reserve your spot; there are only a few left for this class!

All the new goodies are beginning to trickle in. The first to be at the store is the new Making Memories Garden Party line. Beautiful spring papers with lots of embellishments both for spring and Easter. This was by far our favorite Easter line so come and get it while the getting is good.

Several other lines are in transit including: Daisy D, 7 Gypsies, K& Co and the most beautiful ribbon in spring hues. I knew for sure the UPS guy would have a delivery for me on Monday but still no luck- hopefully tomorrow.    c

You Too Can Be A Supermodel

Who doesn't dream of being a supermodel, or at least, having something in common with one. And while we are fantasizing, not just any supermodel but the creme de la creme of stardom- a Sport's Illustrated supermodel! If you are like me, the list of differences is much, much bigger ( you get my drift) than the list of similarities. I'm not even sure there is a similarity, well maybe that we were both born in the same month- definitely not the same year!  What we do have in common with those scantily clad beauties is an exquisite sense of style and an eye for the unique!

In the upcoming Sport's Illustrated swimsuit edition (I have no idea which month it is but any male from the ages of 13 to 99 can easily tell you) , the super chicks will be wearing something you can purchase at Paper Crown. No, it's not a paper bikini but I'm sure some of you are up to that challenge!  The supermodels will be wearing ta-da- Dogeared jewelry! No it wasn't purchased at Paper Crown but we have the same exact stuff!

Not only are they cute but maybe, just maybe, your wish will come true! I wonder if I could wish to be a supermodel for a day!

On to other items with star qualities. So very many of you have sighed over the beautiful crown that won our crown contest last summer. You can tell the creator is a true artist and the gracious, nice and oh so talented Jackie Peters has agreed to share her talents with those of us at Paper Crown.

Jackie's first class is scheduled for Tuesday, March 4 from 6-8 p.m. You will create 2 beautiful over sized Easter tags that will look great on an Easter basket or delivered to someone as a special Easter greeting. Jackie will demonstrate several new techniques such as paper dyeing and shrink art. Just like Jackie's crown, these tags will be loaded with treasures. The cost of  the class is $25.00 and you can call the store to reserve your spot. I have a feeling the class will fill quickly so this is one you don't want to be on the fence or you will miss out.  Here are just a few sneak peaks at Jackie's tags but the samples are at the store if your curiosity is peaked.   Remember call soon, our bloggers are getting a sneak peak before the newsletter! cindy

Cupid in the House

Cupid has definitely struck at Paper Crown and if his arrow hasn't hit you or your valentine, it's not too late!

Valentine cards and kits galore- My Mind's Eye, Paper Relic and Daisy D. Each with it's own style but all sure to make your valentine swoon! The Daisy D kits are perfect for school age kiddos- some creating but not so much that it puts mom over the edge!

If candy and flowers are too predictable, a handmade treat is sure to make someone's heart go a flutter. My Mind's Eye has 2 free page layouts ( with the purchase of My Mind's Eye paper) that make the beginnings of a valentine scrapbook a snap. The planning has all been taken care of, you just copy the design and add your pictures.

The perfect treat for classmates both large ( high school girlfriends) or small ( MDO playmates) Daisy D match box, gift bag and treat bags. Italian Influence

Nothing like a little international flair to liven things up here at Paper Crown. The goodies from Cavallini were definitely worth the wait and just the right umph( is that spelling correct?) to get us through the creative lull until all the new goodies from CHA begin to arrive.

For all you bird lovers, it's your lucky day. We have been inundated with bird treats- stamp sets, labels, erasers (the really good kind that don't leave any marks), file folders, and several large sheets of paper suitable for projects or wrapping that special present.

Butterflies are also appearing everywhere for spring and we have beautiful butterfly labels- 100 plus in a handy tin , file folders ( great for organizing the office or craft projects) and journals.

Not to be outdone, we have several Parisian elements including a stamp set with french phrases, Eiffel tower, GREAT crown and sweet bird; french journals; and large paper sheet that looks like a vintage map of Paris. Ohh la la! I almost forgot my favorite- French alphabet flash cards.Oh so sweet and I can already envision so very many uses in a kiddos room. These would look great with the large sheet of vintage toys, very cute decoupaged on a piece of furniture. So many treasures, so little time!

That Took Awhile

I think in my last blog entry I said new pics in 24 hours- unfortunately it has been more like 24 days! Busy, busy organizing birthday extravaganzas, creating auction projects, checking in new goodies and ordering LOTS of new treats. Although CHA isn't until this weekend, we have gotten to take a peek at a lot of our favorites and even placed quite a few pre-show orders. What a deal, all the benefits of the show minus the travel, bad hotel food and crowds. Actually I would love to go but it just didn't work out this year. Besides how could I be SO close to Disney land and not take the kiddos.  Goodies should be arriving soon and in the meantime we are getting some late collections to tide you over until the big rush.

Our newest favorites include the Making Memories 5th Avenue collection. Fun black, white, blue and green papers with pebbly brads, box of buttons & flowers, tags and drum roll- the black and white  spiral journal book and flower ledger journaling book. These are absolutely adorable and will be gone in no time flat. If you have seen them in the magazines and have been waiting , all I can say is run, not walk, down to Paper Crown. If you aren't the speediest chick in class don't worry, we already have a 2nd order placed.

If you haven't thought about Valentine's Day you still have time- if you hurry. The pickings are getting slim but we still have plenty of the MY Mind's Eye and some of the Daisy D. Last week we also got in vintage Valentine collage sheets and stamps from Alpha Stamps. These will be perfect for a last minute project and very one- of- a -kind.

Last Saturday we had a great time at the store- 17 7 year olds came to a fully glitterized classroom for the girliest birthday in town. For an hour and a half- yes you heard me right - those girls glued, glittered, stamped and jeweled some of the most creative crowns you have ever seen. Although it took all day on Monday to clean, it was a huge birthday success! Please remember us for your next birthday party, we love girls from 7 to 70. Who doesn't love glitter!

Hopefully I'm getting back in the swing, Cavalleni arrived today and also new Valentine Paper Relics. The store is bursting with goodies so come delight in the sparkle. c2+h

Hey Stranger!

It has been a busy time for us at Paper Crown- holidays, inventory, holiday take down and flipping the store. Happy hearts are definitely in the air and Paper Crown is a sea of red and pink. Lots and lots of valentine goodies and classes to inspire you.Daisy D has some of the cutest kits for valentines and several types of treat bags. They are perfect for school age kiddos and make your job as home room mom a snap.

My Mind's Eye also has a line of 4 valentines that are more sophisticated- who says valentines are just for kids! My Mind's Eye has also come up with 2 page layouts that are adorable and will make creating those Valentine party pages a breeze.

In addition to the Valentines goodies we have a new line from Making Memories- very warm and cozy colors- perfect for this nippy day! CHA is just around the corner and we have gotten a few sneak peaks. It looks awesome and I can't wait to begin placing orders as soon as next week!

Just a reminder we have some fun classes scheduled for this month and crops on Friday evenings. Great time to get caught up on all those Christmas photos and all our Christmas items are 40% off.

I realize a picture of all the new goodies would be nice but the camera is at home and I was determined to post a blog today so for 24 hours use your imaginations- y'all are crafty chicks! c2+h

Ice Age

That title seemed appropriate after the last week. It has been a slow thaw around here but I hope the end is in sight. Our Internet at the store has been down for almost a week but thankfully we never lost electricity. That was a good thing because I spent one pretty sleepless night trying to catch some z's at the store. Who knew paper and ribbon could be so --spooky. The electricity has been off at my house for 12 days but thankfully when I woke up this am, there were 4 big trucks from the Albuquerque Electric outside my door. I am hoping that by the time I finish this post my electricity will be up! I have been a little cranky to say the least. I may have to send those guys home to NM with a box of paper, glitter & ribbon, surely they have someone at home who would appreciate it. 

While old man winter was covering the trees and electric lines with ice, our faithful UPS man was delivering some much anticipated goodies. Yes girls, I do have another shipment of Clip It Ups  just in time for Christmas. If you haven't seen these, and chances are you haven't because they have flown out the door, these are a great organizational tool for all your goodies. It's like a tall short order cook carousel that holds a TON and even has a second tier for those serious crafters. These are great because it allows you to see all your goodies and they aren't tucked away in a drawer or tub. These would make a great Christmas gift and you could start out the new year with an organized craft room .

Another much anticipated arrival was the beautiful gifty items from Fringe Studio. All Fall I have been buying these gorgeous glass trays and candles for gifts. Finally I asked myself why am I buying these elsewhere when there is no reason we can't carry them at Paper Crown. The are artistic, fun and very reasonably priced. We got a first shipment of picture frames, glass trays and the best smelling candles. All very pretty and perfect for teacher gifts or just that little extra present to have around just in case.    Fringe treats are great for the paper artist who will appreciate the patterns and colors and those not so crafty who will just love a new pretty.

Last but definitely not least, are these chic hand made hobo bags. I bought mine this summer in Crested Butte and if I had a dollar for every time someone asked where I got it I would be a rich woman. Well, I finally smartened up and can now say Paper Crown. These bags are so unique and fun. They are adored with either a flower or a bird on a branch( yes , you read correctly a bird on a sweet little branch, is that not right up our alley or what!) and either hobo or messenger bag . Way to cute and what girl wouldn't be tickled to have one under her tree.

We have just one other goodie we are hoping will get here this week. Wish Necklaces- cute tiny charms on a silk cord with the premise that you make a wish and when the cord wears and breaks, the wish will come true. We can't guarantee the wish but it's a sweet thought and all the high school girls love them. As you can see we are diversifying just a tad. I must admit it takes a lot of paper to pay rent so this will hopefully help us and you.

Keep your fingers crossed I'm going to drive by the house and hope to have lights blazing. Happy Holidays c2+h, e

Whose the "E"? We have hired another college student to help us out during the holidays and inventory. Her name is Emily McLennan and she is an art major. Very sweet and you will love her so come in and say Hi to Emily and take a peek at the new treats.

One more IMPORTANT newsflash - our very own karaoke sing Cheri was named Teacher of the Year yesterday!! We couldn't be prouder of her and know how lucky her class is to have such a great teacher! Cheri we love you and are so proud of you, we just wish you got a reprieve from recess or cafeteria duty!   

Compliment of all Compliments

Yesterday was a good day. Not only did I get the store picked up, a little Xmas shopping done, book work ( I know no one calls it that anymore but Mom did so... and now I know why she hated it so much!) , 2 of 3 kiddos said I love you- unprompted and they are teenagers, yummy dinner at Saturn Grill (SBLT) but I received the ultimate compliment on the store.  Someone whom I do not know; therefore, is not related nor a my best friend commented that Paper Crown is getting to look more and more like Cloverleaf! Whoever you are, you made my day. 

When we moved locations that is what we were striving to achieve. I realize that Cloverleaf is not a paper arts store but boy is it a magical shopping experience. Everything is such eye candy!  We still have a ways to go but now I know we are headed in the right direction.

Her comment got me wondering why she said that. Is it the pom pom fringe in apothecary jars, scads of new vintage and shimmering glitter, Parisian ribbon , unique embellishments for scrapbooking and paper arts,  our love of all things vintage, more ribbon, fascination  with all things related to birds, love of really beautiful paper or finally, more ribbon?

Who knows but we will take that compliment any day! 

Although this item isn't what I would call eye candy, our customers sure do love it and it's awfully handy. Today we got our 2nd shipment of Clip It Ups, envision a short order cook carousel only much taller. This holds so many items and they are all within view and so easy to grab. If one tier isn't enough, you can get a second tier to hold more goodies. I think I will take back my comment about not being eye candy because once it's loaded, both it and your craft room will look beautiful. No we did not drop off the face of the Earth; we have just been swamped putting out ALL the many, 23 to be exact, boxes of new treats. It has been an exhausting couple of weeks but oh so fun. The store has totally changed- what was up is now down, left is now right, back is now front and basically the entire front of the store is brand spanking new!  

All the Christmas lines are out and ready for your Christmas projects and cards. Some of our favorites this season are Basic Grey, Daisy d, Autumn Leaves, My Mind's Eye, SEI, Cosmo Cricket, Anna Griffin, and K&Co to name a few. To help get you started, My Mind's Eye has card and gift bag kits. Great idea for teacher or co-worker gifts.

We also have in lots of vintage holiday decor from Bethany Lowe. Beautiful feather trees, vintage type ornaments and glass garland. I also picked up a few home decor treats at my favorite KS shop on the way home from Omaha. All seem to be bird related and all beautiful. Definitely worth a trip to the store because when they are gone, they are GONE!

Not quite in the holiday spirit yet- that's OK because we also have gotten in some FUN year round treats. New brown and cream Jenni Bowlin is beautiful along with new chipboard goodies. My favorite is the scalloped banner- just right for a JOY banner. Also got in the Prima paintables, just like a coloring book for adults. I spent Sat. am painting away with my coffee and it was a blast.

One more favorite treat for the day- KI cardlace. oh so pretty and so fun. We also love all the softies that go with the high energy line.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...

It's starting to look like Christmas around here! Today I put out the new paper from My Mind's Eye called Frost and Festive. Also, for the "Love, Elsie" fans, her new lines Zoe and Noel are in and my my do they look delightful! The new Cosmo Cricket is delightful and so is the Melissa Francis and Autumn Leaves Rhonna line. Such fun!!!

1st Annual Crown Market

Pictures aren't cooperating tonight so I'll have to engage your imaginations. Boxes from floor to ceiling, glitter scattered on the floor, reds, greens, pinks, blues, vintage, modern cool, and 4 boxes that haven't even seen daylight. Can't believe I resisted just taking a peek today!  This is why we are having our 1st annual CROWN MARKET. Too much great stuff but NO room!

Imagine a flea market (Canton for paper arts chicks) with all your favorite stuff and none of the hassle- no musty smell, parking issues, heat, stuff you are wondering who would want.  Here is how CROWN MARKET will work:

Thursday, Nov. 1- 35% off all embellishments (stamps, flowers, ribbon, charms, anything that is an extra! )

Friday, November 2-2 for 1 on all patterned papers

Saturday, November 3- 35% off all basics (albums, card stock, adhesives, idea books)

Specials apply to that day ONLY; however, during all three days, select paper will be 60% off and the "vintage" goodies in the crop room will also be 60% off. Sorry but due to the sale, we will not be doing 40% off one item on Thursday, 15% off total sale coupons or taking punch totals. As you can see we are extending Halloween an extra three days- all treats and no tricks! I have to share a great Halloween- and a great God story with you as I close. I realize it seems to be kind of a contradiction of issues but hang with me pls. Since B left, Halloween has always fallen on "my" night so I have never had to deal with  no kiddos on Halloween. Tonight was the 1st night so I decided to buck up and deal with it. I asked B as he picked up the kiddos to drop by in costume so I could see them- it is 10:00pm no kiddos so I guess it isn't going to happen. BUT guess what I got instead-

The cutest group of kiddos came to the door tonight. All smiles and kinda make shift costumes. As I was bending down to put Hersey's into their bags, the cutest Dark Vadar, probably 5- 6 yrs old,  whipped off his mask and gave me a KISS on the cheek. I promptly dumped the remainder of my bowl into his bag and sang his praises to his shocked mom. Isn't God amazing; he just seems to know when we are at our ropes end. This turned out to be an an ok Halloween and I hope yours was also.

Halloween Greetings!

BOO! In between football, ortho appts, hair appts, and volleyball, we managed to carve a couple of pumpkins last night. Em has a mean guy and Payne's was Dracula- sorry you can't see the pointy ears.  By the way, I did manage to pot the mum this am- I won't even tell you how long it has been sitting cms from the pot- so close but SO far!

Who doesn't love Halloween- orange, dressing up and tons of candy! Thought I would send out a quick Halloween greeting before I tackle the newsletter. Yes, it actually might be on time this month. Maybe I am finally getting back in the groove. I used to be so efficient- I think I have been on sabbatical for a couple of years.

We got a wild hair, it might be the full moon the past few days, but this Thursday, Nov. 1- Saturday, November 3 we will be having our 1st annual CROWN MARKET. It promises tro be all treats and no tricks. More on that to come later today.

In the mean time, I hope everyone has a sweet and spooky Halloween- don't forget the pics.  Yes, that is a crown on that sad little pumpkin. If only I had gone up to the third floor to get Martha's nifty pumpkin carving kit but- mom was pooped last night so the kitchen knife it was.
